2021 Harvard FLAIR Award
by Harvard Alumni for Fashion, Luxury, and Retail
The Inaugural Harvard FLAIR Award was awarded to Fashion Girls for Humanity by Harvard Alumni for Fashion, Luxury, and Retail, which is a Shared-Interest Group (SIG) officially recognized and supported by the Harvard Alumni Association to help connect the 300,000 living Harvard alumni around common areas of interest. The group was founded in 2019 to help Harvard alumni build community, continue their education, and participate in charitable initiatives related to the FL&R industries. The group currently has a global, diverse membership of 300 spanning 6 continents, 8 decades, and all 13 schools at Harvard, with at least another 1300 Harvard alums and affiliates interested in joining in 2021.
"The award was created to recognize significant contributions at the intersection of the FL&R industries and social, racial, environmental, and economic justice. We would like to honor the significant contributions of Fashion Girls for Humanity in enabling healthcare workers and everyday citizens around the world to better protect themselves during the global pandemic. For future events and iterations of the FLAIR Award, our organization will recognize both insiders and the marginalized so that we can have conversations rooted in action that will help build a more inclusive and equitable system that benefits all people."
